On May 30 and 31, the Sacramento region turned out in a huge way to help make the new WEAVE Safehouse a home. WEAVE partnered with our great friends at IKEA to host yet another installment of the "World's Largest Housewarming Party".
During the two days, WEAVE volunteers greeted IKEA guests with IKEA cookies and sparkling beverages and shared the story of the new Safehouse. IKEA shoppers were provided with a gift registry of items needed for the new Safehouse and given the opportunity to purchase item(s) while shopping and drop off their donations on the way out.
IKEA shoppers provided many of the much needed items with vegetable peelers, mugs, and towels filling the donation bin for the two days. In all, IKEA shoppers contributed nearly $1,500 worth of items! The house is still not full with WEAVE in need of bunk beds, dish sets, bedding, and much more. IKEA has generously agreed to keep the donation bin up through the month of June. You can see the updated gift registry here
